Jerusalem Summit-2003:
The Failure of the U.N. in Dealing with the Global Moral Crisis |
|
I agree with Max Nordau that "man is based on aggression, and society must limit these impulses". Conscience is a moral compass. Conscience is absent in some societies and often in the US we get a reversal of roles. Terrorism is deliberate and systematic action to kill innocent civilians. But the UN doesn't make the distinction, because that would say some of the UN members are perpetuators of war crimes, or terrorism... The "pilot's letter" was an example of our moral confusion. Militant Islam and totalitarianism without constraints is Nazism.
The UN will not stop the terrorists; only an alliance of free states led by the US, geared to bring down regimes that fuel and propagate terrorism, can do that. We must implant values and morality in civilizations. Salvation will not come from the UN.
The IDF must continue to fight terrorism, for Israel's survival as a nation, and to uphold justice and morality. We try to minimize civilian casualties, but we will never give terrorists immunity just because they hide in civilian areas.
